De Universitaire Stichting kan subsidies verlenen om het publiceren te bevorderen van wetenschappelijke artikelen in internationaleb tijdschriften met "peer eview" . De subsidie kan enkel toegekend worden aan werken die aantoonbaar voortkomen uit onderzoek in een Belgische onderzoekseenheid.
OPGELET: De aanvragen voor het subsidiëren van de kosten voor het publiceren van wetenschappelijke artikelen dienen te worden ingediend door middel van een "online" systeem. Dit systeem vereenvoudigt het week zowel voor de aanvragers als voor de administratie van de Universitaire Stichting.

Directly influenced by Colin Rowe’s essay “Mathematics of the Ideal Villa” (1947) and the Warburgian art historical tradition, John Hejduk’s nine-square grid studio exercise had an ambiguous relation to the instrumentality of architectural history. When the nine-square grid exercise was copied in many architecture schools around the world as a first-year studio project, initiating the novice student in the realm of architectural composition, the pedagogical interpretation of its relation to architectural history varied.

Sign language linguistics has largely focused on lexical, phonological, and morphosyntactic structures of sign languages, leaving the facets of interaction overlooked. One reason underlying the study of smaller units in the initial stages of development of the field was a pressing concern to ground sign languages as linguistic. The interactive domain has been sidestepped in gesture studies, too, where one dominant approach has been rooted in psycholinguistic models arguing for gesture’s tight relationship with speech as part of language.

ABSTRACT : Sea turtles have been exploited at unsustainable rates globally. In Malaysia, their populations have faced serious declines because of diverse anthropogenic stressors including turtle egg consumption. Redang Island, off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is an important rookery for green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) in Southeast Asia. The local community has depended on turtle eggs as a food and livelihood source for decades. Owing to the precipitous decline in sea turtles, the main nesting beaches became legally protected in 2007.

Abstract : The main drawback of laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF), commonly called selective laser melting (SLM) is the high porosity which may lead to an early failure of the parts. To minimize it, the L-PBF parameters need to be optimized focusing on the laser power, scanning speed and hatching space. However, no standard guideline exists. In this study, an efficient and cost-effective methodology is developed and validated on AlSi12. This innovative methodology brings together single scan tracks (SST), macroscopic properties analysis and design of experiments (DOE).

Purpose : Idiopathic clubfoot affects approximately 1/1000 alive-born infants, of whom 80–91% are born in low- or middleincome countries (LMICs). This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the morphological, functional, and social outcomes in patients with neglected clubfoot in rural Bangladesh, after receiving surgical treatment.
